The Level 4 is aimed at those who are working in the construction industry in a managerial position or who may be appertaining to management.
The certificate requires completion of the Managing Health, Safety and Wellbeing and 2 additional units, usually over a 1 year period.
The diploma requires completion of a further 6 units, usually over a 2 year period.
The Chartered Membership Pathway (CMP) is for experienced and knowledgeable construction professionals who have no formal qualifications. The CMP is via distance learning over a period of 13 weeks, with a Saturday morning workshop. There are four open book exams, held by the CIOB in June and November yearly.

The APEL route is for CIOB members who currently have ACIOB or ICIOB membership, this is for a limited time period as ACIOB and ICIOB is to be removed in 2024.
The APEL route is a process whereby your experience as opposed to degree status allows you access to MCIOB.
